<sup>The Tempe Exhibitions program features artwork by more than 250 artists each year. With rotating exhibtions at the Gallery at TCA as well as multiple community art spaces, there are many opportunities to experience visual art throughout the City. The Gallery at TCA offers a vibrant exhibitions program as well as unique opportunities for local and national artists to engage with the community members of all ages in programs through programs such as artist residencies, maker workshops and lectures.

^{Residencies provide opportunity for artists to work, learn and create outside of the typical studio environment. Participating artists are provided with space and access to experiment with new themes and media, as well as brainstorm and network with other artists and professionals. In 2017, the Gallery at TCA hosted its first multi-week artist residency program. In conjunction with the summer exhibition Biomimicry: nature inspired design three Arizona based artists were selected by jury panel for a 10-week program. ^{In response to local art teachers’ requests for short and inexpensive artist-led programs, the Gallery at TCA developed the Virtual Artist Residency Program (VARP). VARP provides small groups of students the opportunity to interact with artist via email to study and interview living artists about topics like inspiration, media and artistic processes to better inform their own artmaking in the classroom.}

^{The Gallery at TCA outreach programs provide both artists and community members the chance to interact with exhibiting artists and gain fresh perspectives on art making and meaning. Based on exhibition themes, programs are designed to reach a variety of age levels, cover current topics of interest and enhance the overall art experience in the Gallery. Many hands-on workshops for youth and adults are taught and led by exhibiting artists and feature a free make and take project.
