Your Host
Tempe favorite Walt Richardson, II, has been singing, writing songs and playing guitar as far back as he can remember. At one time in his life he was planning to pursue a career in bio-chemistry. That was when he learned the power of music and live performance.
“Standing alone with a guitar gives me freedom of expression, and for me, that’s where it all begins,” Richardson said. “It is an intimacy that touches each audience member and gives rise to the message behind the music.” Richardson’s vision and dedication have been instrumental in the success of Walk-in Wednesdays Open Mic Night and in its sister event, the Songwriters’ Showcase.
“I believe that inspiration is one of the greatest gifts we can share with each other, and music allows me to share this gift,” Richardson said. “I truly believe that the emerging performing singer/songwriters and the community in attendance tonight will walk away feeling inspired and highly entertained.”
Listen to Walt Richardson’s “My World of Music” via streaming audio. Walt provides artist interviews, current event topics and local, national and international music. Live from Noon - 2 pm on Saturdays, playback from 9 am - 11 am on Mondays.
* Walk-in Wednesdays Open Mic Night is not intended to serve as a recital site.
