Some writers claim that the moon and the sun are tired, cliche images, but the sky and its celestial bodies have appeared in art, philosophy, religion, and mythology for centuries. In this workshop, we will take a look at examples of how the sky shapes many mythos and the power it holds in stories as an image, symbol, and metaphor while inviting new interpretations, iterations and subversions of its role in a story. This workshop is designed with fiction in mind, but nonfiction writers and poets are welcome at any level.
